Let’s Talk About Prolapse After Birth

Postpartum prolapse is more common than most people realize—and it’s something we need to talk about more openly.

After pregnancy and delivery, the pelvic organs (like the bladder, uterus, or rectum) can shift downward due to changes in support. This is known as pelvic organ prolapse.

💡 Studies suggest that up to 50% of women may have some degree of prolapse after childbirth—many without even knowing it.

So what does it feel like?

You might notice:
• A feeling of heaviness or pressure in the pelvis
• A “bulge” sensation or something falling out
• Increased urinary urgency or leaking
• Difficulty with bowel movements
• Discomfort with prolonged standing or exercise

Here’s the important part:
👉 These symptoms are common—but they are NOT something you have to just live with.

Seeing a pelvic floor physical therapist can make a huge difference.

A pelvic floor PT can help you:
✔ Improve support and coordination (not just “do Kegels”)
✔ Reduce pressure and heaviness
✔ Guide you safely back to exercise
✔ Address underlying issues like breath mechanics and core function

Early support matters. The sooner you address symptoms, the better your outcomes.

You deserve to feel strong, supported, and confident in your body again 💛
